Wednesday, June 2: Update 3 with Pictures

I just got done sitting with Claire again. She is off the percussion ventilator and now on a less noisy, less intrusive machine. This is important because it is one of the steps toward slowly weaning her off the medicine that is keeping her muscles paralyzed. It’s also an indication that her body is doing a better job of getting oxygen than it was previously: she’s becoming a little more stable hour by hour.

I’m not yet comfortable taking my big cameras into the room yet, but at least I had my iPhone. I know many of you are eager to see her.

Here she is having just moved from the percussion ventilator to the new ventilator (in foreground). You can’t see it well, but the screen shows great oxygen activity.

Autumn and Heidi met with two hospital workers this morning that specialize in child development and help siblings deal with the events. These are the pictures that Heidi and Autumn made for Claire during the morning session. They’re hanging in Claire’s room now.

And here’s our brave baby Claire. She’s beautiful.

I’ll post again tonight after the progress report with the doctor.

  21. Continuing to pray for Claire’s healing and for strength for your whole family. At times like these, very thankful for technology so we can be updated and praying for all the details, thank you for taking the time to write the updates

  22. You don’t know me, but I’m a friend of Candace Bachara’s cousin in Wisconsin. I’ve been praying for Claire and your entire family. I just wanted you to know that my neighbor’s best friends also had an accident like this. I believe their daughter was two when she was found, unresponsive, in the swimming pool. About 5 years ago she attended her high school prom. Her mother is a nurse and I’m sure she’d be willing to talk with you if ever you feel like talking with someone who has been where you are now. Godspeed to Claire’s recovery!

  23. Praying the “powerful presence of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to heal Claire, to restore every cell to it’s normal state, the blood to cleanse the infection and the oil of the Holy Spirit for healing. I pray that the circuits in her brain be reconnected, I speak the river of life into the innermost parts and push back the powers of darkness that would come to seek, kill and destroy because greater is He that is in Claire than He that is in the world. I release angels to battle in the heavenlies for her as well. Amen”

  24. Tiffany & Tyler you are all in our prayers. Never give up hope in God, he guides us all. Love you all.
    Cousin Diane & Rocky

How old is she?

My prayers and love are with all of you. I know that God is giving you the courage to face this difficult situation, and I also know that the little Claire will be as perfect as always very soon. Sincerely…Zazil

  31. AWESOME! We continue to pray. We hope Claire felt the comfort from her mommy and that it helped her!!! GO CLAIRE! KEEP IT UP!

  32. Tyler and Tiffany,

We saw the story of your beautiful daughter on a friends Facebook page and have been following it ever since. Claire is a beautiful child and those pictures tell an amazing story.

We too have a 3 1/2 year old and can’t even begin to fathom what pain you and your family must be in right now. However, as evident by the comments on this blog, even total strangers have your baby girl in our hearts and prayers.

May God heal Claire and your family’s spirit.

We will keep all of you in our prayers and will be looking forward to the next update.

    The Shaddox Family
