Mini-Post: We’re off to Baylor

We’re leaving for Baylor in about an hour: the scheduled departure is 10:00 AM CDT. I don’t anticipate being able to give another update until later tonight. Please keep us in your prayers today as we get Claire settled and we meet with the team at Baylor. I anticipate that we will be having some candid, sobering discussions today. It’s going to be difficult to hear, but we will be reminding ourselves that we are hopeful Claire will defy expectations.

Talk to you soon.

  1. Praying for you all today. God will give you the strength and He goes with you. Keep the faith! He is such a BIG God!
    Much love,

  2. What great news! Y’all are such an inspiration and I know that this part of your journey will be filled with hope and love. I thank you so much for sharing. Every day my children and I want to see how “our” Claire is doing and are very excited about the progress that she has made and will be making. We ask the Lord to comfort each and everyone of you and to give you enough peace to be still so you can listen for direction. We pray that you will continue to be joyful in Claire’s babysteps and to know that a step is a step, no matter what size it is. All our love from Rosenberg, TX is with you! Thanks again! pat 🙂

  3. We know He goes with us and before us and prepares our way…..blessings as you walk into a future where He waits for you!

  4. Blessings and prayers on this new phase of your journey. God go with you all. I’m sure Claire will defy all the odds, as she has done since the beginning!

    Love,
    Dodie

  5. Its incredible to feel such love for a family I’ve never met. Know you are surrounded by love and covered in prayer. Medicine has advanced so far, and God is still in the business of making miracles!

  6. I am a “new, yet to be introduced” friend from colorado springs, co. Our family is covering you with prayer knowing that God’s protection and favor is with you. It doesn’t totally take away the “raw, initial” emotions or take away the processing of them, but it does give that deep down hope and peace that allows us to keep going…..even when we “say” we can’t do it anymore.

As a former peds nurse in Dallas, I guarantee that you will find unexpected blessings throughout Claire’s Journey…..God is a God of details…that’s where our blessings come from…the little joys and victories “sprinkled” onto our days. Your family is such an incredible testimony of faith…..it is an honor to be able to be included in your journey and be on your “prayer team”.
Enjoy the blessing of a bit more “breathing space” and quiet and freedom with rehab. As the Olympic Training Center is in the Springs, I keep seeing the parallel of the athletes consistent, perseverance of doing the same thing day after day to train….your family is called to show that same perseverance, even when there isn’t a huge visual change. That is what i imagine Paul is talking about when he speaks of “running the race well, with hope”

    Blessings,
Jennie Chumbley ( for the Chumbleys)

  7. Praying for strength and healing, for all of you!
    One day at a time…
Care for the caregivers; prayers and love to all.
    Susan D.

  8. Praying for a smooth transition today. I’ve also been praying that Claire will make such a miraculous recovery that the only explaination will be God’s grace and goodness. I know her strength and total recovery will be a testament to others of God’s power and love.

    Love you both,
    Dana

  9. Thank you for the pictures you’ve included with your frequent updates. It’s wonderful to see the people that we are praying for and to be able to put faces and names together. So much has happened since I checked the blog on Friday, but it seems that they are all positive things. Yes, you and your family have a very long road ahead of you, but please know that you are not alone. There are many people praying for you every minute of every day. We will not stop praying until Claire is fully recovered.
    God bless you.

  10. Praying for you and your family.
Look how far you have come…it may be slow but there is progress. Keep your faith and continue to pray. Our God is a mighty God and thru Him ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

  11. Praying for you each day. It was a privilege to pray during the “hedge” those first days. But know that the prayer continues daily. Praise God for the progress she’s made and will make!!

  12. I’m trusting and believeing — God says, He will never leave or forsake us. Praying and carrying each of you to the cross everyday in Guymon, OK.

  13. We pray for little Claire daily. You all are in my constant thoughts everyday. We have 3 kiddos and the 2 oldest can hardly wait to get an update each day. My oldest son said just a couple of days ago…”Mom, God does miracles. Sometimes He just does them in small steps. That’s what he’s doing with her.” We serve an awesome and a BIG God! We will be praying for your family during transition.
